Nick is originally from Reidsville, NC. He attended Guilford College, in Greensboro, NC, playing for the Quaker football team one year before deciding to join the US Marine Corps and served a 4 yr enlistment  as a Motor Transport Diesel technician. After honorable service, he decided to further his experience at Atlantic Marine, as a marine technician.
