ATLANTIC MARINE SPONSORS LANDFALL LEGENDS OF TENNIS EVENT

Atlantic Marine is pleased to once again sponsor the Legends of Tennis charity exhibition this year, held this weekend, September 19th and 20th.  The Landfall Foundation has announced American tennis superstar Lindsay Davenport will headline this year’s Legends of Tennis charity exhibition event hosted at the Country Club of Landfall’s Drysdale Sports Center complex.  Proceeds from Legends of Tennis will go directly the Landfall Foundation’s grants programs to assist in awarding grants to local non-profits from the greater Wilmington area.

Davenport is one of the most accomplished American tennis players of the Open era with three Grand Slam Championships in singles; US Open (1998), Wimbledon (1999) and the Australian Open (2000), and three Grand Slam Championships in doubles; French Open (1996), US Open (1997) and Wimbledon (1999). Davenport won 55 WTA Tour Titles in singles and 38 WTA Tour Titles in doubles, is tied for seventh on most tour title wins of all time, is an Olympic Gold Medalist and was the first player to surpass the Million Dollar mark in prize money, taking the honor from legendary player Steffi Graf.

Joining Davenport are returning players: Australian, Rennae Stubbs who won four Grand Slam doubles titles and over 60 WTA doubles tour titles, Jimmy Arias, once ranked as high as number five in the world, and Mikael Pernfors of Sweden who played in the French Open and Davis Cup finals.

Legends play will include singles, doubles, and mixed doubles. Look for the Grady-White and Chris-Craft boats around the court!
